Brilliant idea! Thank you for helping me solving the leaking noise issue ( had to move the filling valve a bit... probably to remove limescale... to be honest I haven't removed and cleaned it yet ). You're the best and most handsome plumber I know! 😘
Just to add another cause - for me, the water tap was simply too open and was causing the leaking to continue once the tank was full. I only found it out after following every step in the video and disparing as it was still leaking, but fiddling around and turning the water tap slowly clockwise reduced the leak until it stopped - but leaving enough pressure for the tank to fill as normal. The video was so useful as it gave me the confidence to go in, clean everything and it works overall much better on top and no longer leaks. Thanks!
Thank you Stan! My apartment has an older model Gebreit. Your tutorial was perfect and had details others did not explain. It felt empowering to fix it myself. Thanks to you!
Linstan!!! You are the BOMB!!! Your video saved my sanity!! I never thought i would findxa tutorial in English but there you are! Your instructions were perfect and although my model is slightly different, it worked. I would have never figured that out on my own. Scraped off 10 years of Brussels calcium from all parts, put it back together... zero money spent. I owe you a case of beer for sure!
Chapeau, Linstan! Thank you much for transmitting your know-how and demystifying the flushing system! You are a champion to us do-it-your selfers. Un grand merci!
I had a leaking problem with my Geberit. After watching the video and disassembling it, I found a piece of paper in between the flushing valve and the Seal mechanism on the bottom. Problem solved. Thanks man
Thanks to your clear and easy instructions we were able to remove disassemble and clean 20 years old Geberit parts. We recommend to watch out for limescale and filmy residues!
Thanks Stan your really helpful video helped me fix my problem - I'm in London and the seals on the flush were caked in limescale. Also showing the different Geberit models helped me figure out mine. Merci, bravo.
Thank you so much..my toilet wouldn’t stop filling so removed all components as per your instructions and cleaned after checking seals..now working perfect..merci bien!
Really good video, i took apart both my geberit flushes, and found out tons of limescale was the cause of weird sounds, leaking etc, very , managed to clean everything and all is fine now, helpful video tnx!
Thank you so much for the video! It was super clear and helpful. Our filling valve was full of limescale so the toilet wouldn't stop filling. You saved us a very expensive plumber call!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Sincere gratitude for your truly helpful video. I watched several how to fix the flush mechanism, and your video is the BEST and very easy to follow. You truly help a lot of people, including me. 246 thousand views! You are a true Boddhisattva helping people in need for free! May your life be blessed and you become prosperous!
Incredibly clear and helpful video! I disassembled, cleaned and reinstalled flush valve following these directions. Toilet flushes perfectly now, no leaks. Thank you so much for this outstanding video
Amazing!! I had a leaking filling valve, and had no idea how to fix it. Until I found your video!!! Absolutely brilliant, I fixed it by replacing the membrane and your instructions were spot on. Thanks a lot for this!!!
Tres Bon merci Linstan. I had to replace both the fill valve seal and the flush valve seal. Excellent instructional video. Probably saved me about £90 plumber bill.
I watched 6 different videos before i manage to fix it as it had 2 issues and then your video popped that explains everything in one video and very detailed lol where were you before?! well done this will help a lot of people thanks
Thanks for this video. My toilet had a slow leak. Ordered the parts off of Amazon and fixed it with ease. One note, my Geberit wall plates have the spring on the left side. Push to the plate to the right and it will come off.
Hi Linstan! Fantastic video and really clear. My model is exactly the one you showed and I managed to clean 11 years of calcium and the flush works perfectly! The half flush was not stopping and the video helped me fixed it, all the rubber rings were perfectly fine and only needed to be cleaned. Merci beaucoup!
Awesome... easy, straightforward and no nonsense.... in my case the tank was not filling up. so I dismantle the filling valve as shown in video, clean the membrane and also inside of the valve, put everything back... and there it was... like new! Mercy 👍
Thank you so much! Best video ever! I had a leaky toilet, and apparently 2kg of limestone inside it. Cleaned everything thoroughly and voila, perfect no more leaks 🚽😁
Thank you!!!! My toilet has been leaking for months and we finally decided to give it a try. The black seal had some limescale on it and removing it fixed the issue.
I am super impressed by the video and maybe have the courage to try and fix the leak after reading all the comments! I'm sure it's the limescale buildup but we only have one toilet so I am reluctant to pull it apart and not be able to get it working again.
Bravo Linstan. What a great descriptive video which absolutely nailed my problem. I still don't know how you managed to take the entire valve out of its concealed location - I wasn't able to do that with mine - but no matter, I was able to free it from its housing and lift it till I could remove the seal. Thank you and merci beaucoup.
Hey! Thank you for your return 😉 It's true that sometimes it gets stuck, but don't hesitate to pull on it :) Was it hard to understand me? I did well to put the subtitles ? How can I improve the quality of my future videos? Thanks for your feedback 😅
I had the same problem with a different Geberit toilette, with bubbles on the flush valve seal. This was a 12 year old toilette. Again, your video was very useful. Merci Beaucoup Stan!
Another happy viewer, luckily I only needed to clean the 3 seals, it has been making noises on and off for far too long but it was just too daunting to dismantle! Thanks for giving me the confidence to solve this.
Mr Linstan, This video was extremely helpful to sort out my toilet. The flush control was the hardest as it was wedged under the frame. But cleaned all the seals and limescale etc and now seems to be working fine. Great Job my friend. Merci Beaucoup!
Thank you Stan. I am still self isolating so didn't want to call in a plumber when my leak got worse. I found your video and it really helped as your system was identical to mine. I watched your video several times to absorb the information which was delivered quite quickly in an accent which caused me some problems! The subtitles really helped. I found bubbles on the flush washer so pricked them and put the whole lot back and it worked splendidly, no more leak. I have ordered another from Amazon and I'll put that on when it comes as I am now very confident in assembling and reassembling this amazing Geberit system thanks to your helpful video. Oh, the only problem I encountered was taking the flexible pipe off. The top screw I undid easily but I could not pull out the pipe. I solved it by unscrewing and removing the bottom joint of the pipe which came out easily as it was into plastic. Merci beaucoup.
@@Linstan No, I left the top joint as I was afraid too much pulling and twisting would break something. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Just taking off the bottom connection of the flexible pipe worked well enough and the flushing unit came out easily. Without your video it would not have been possible. It gave me the confidence to try. Merci beaucoup again.
Thank you so much ! Excellent video and explanation !!! I have managed to strip down all the Geberit components, changed all the seals, cleaned off all the limescale (white vinegar !) and reassembled. Toilet has stopped leaking now and I confident all should be good for another 10 years 👍🏽
What a great video, Stan French plumber! Mine is an older model of Geberit and took me 6 days to make sense out of it but I finally fixed it today yay! But I only spent 5 pounds on parts replacement. Very happy. Merci beaucoup!!
Helpful video which helped me identify the problem (limescaled seal) in an older version of the system. Some parts of video were really quick though for a first timer! But thank you.
Thank you for the video. Very clear video and I think it was the fishing basket that was the issue as it was covered in gunk which was probably limescale or something similar. I may need a new flushing valve soon but this has sorted the problem short term. Thanks again
Merci Linstan, you're awesome! I had an easy textbook problem: there was a tiny bubble on the disk seal (gasket) of the flush valve, which also had curled up with time. I flipped the seal around so that the it would curl down. Hissing snake gone!
This video helped me fix my Gerebit concealed cistern 'leak in the pan' problem. Thank you. I actually popped the bubbles with a pin on the silicone flush seal and popped it back in. Works fine now, no leak. But if it happens again, I'll get a new seal.
Thank your very much from Slovenia. I was having problem with flush and I repaired it today by your instructions. The problem was in water stone which one was all over mechanism. By cleaning it the under gasket started to work again. You are the best & my girls are happy again because they can pee normaly again :)))
Thanks for putting this video together! 1st time attempting any type of plumbing and this video was so easy to follow. Havnt fixed the problem yet hoping either a new flush or filling valve will do the job. But at least I know what to do now. Thankyou😁
Thanks so much! Great video. Ordering a new part as there was a slight bubble so I'm hoping thats the issue. Only thing I could not manage to do was get the basket out of the bottom. It turned around but would not pull out so I didn't force it. My model is older.. doesn't have a blue screw top to turn off the water like the alternative picture you showed (I just used a screwdriver to turn on and off).
Amazing video Stan. So helpful and easy to follow. You are a genius. However after taking everything apart and cleaning all seals etc my problem still remains that the cistern keeps filling and won’t stop. Do you have the part numbers for the filling and flush valves please
Awesome video! Very well explained, very visual. It's almost unbelievable the hard work you put into it to make such a high quality video. I'm curious - what are the motivations? Thank you very much anyway, and God bless you.
What an amazingly detailed and helpful video! Thank you so much. There is one thing you don't explain though. Why and when do you need to replace the filling valve. I see it's 26 euros online. It seems to just be a plastic part with no seals, so why would you replace it? How do you know if it needs replacing? I also didn't see the link which shows which parts I am buying. I'm replacing the first and second seal. The third seemed okay. Thanks very much for your excellent video
